Xilinx inc. has awarded a grant to the Fractal Foundation to bring fractal education to the students, teachers and parents at Apache Elementary School in Albuquerque NM.
We are extremely excited about the opportunity to reach ALL the students in the school, from K-5, as well as the teachers and parents. When everyone shares a common language and conceptual framework - i.e. they all recognize the fractal patterns and connections among systems - real progress can be made.
The Xilinx “Educational Ecosystem” program brings a comprehensive approach to transforming education. In addition to funding the Fractal Foundation, Xilinx is also supporting 3 other community nonprofits to serve Apache: Art in the School, Junior Achievement, and Kids Cook.
Thank You Xilinx!!!

My students were so excited after the presentation, they are already asking when we can do more in the classroom. When Mr. Wolfe was asking his math questions, the students saw the connection to the fraction work we have been doing and how it could be put to work in a really fun and artistic way. At this age level all they know is that math is involved and, of course, they don’t know how to do the math to create such awesome representations, but it has grabbed their attention and they are excited.
I used to be a student at Apache, now I’m so excited to see young students there getting involved in fractals. My hope is Jonathen will go to many more schools to come. I also hope he will let me help I love fractals and everyone else should too.
I LOVE FRACTALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
